Project Theme:

Global Health

Learning and Educating Cross-Cultural Data Literacy (CCDL) is an international project focused on data visualization, data ethics, and data humanism.  The project helps students explore how data can be collected, analyzed, visualized and resourced.  This "data literacy" heightens students' awareness of what data is and stimulates the curiosity to ask more ethical questions about data.

As an international initiative, “Project Past Due" is aligned with the University of Amsterdam's Applied Sciences Learning and Educating Cross-Cultural Data Literacy project's central theme of Global Health.

This central theme may be interpreted very broadly.  Students with different cultural backgrounds will collaborate and exchange data using this cultural variety of students as a lens to learn from their individual differences.

While participating in this project, students will create data visualizations and data stories from a humanized perspective. This means designing data visualization representing the real lives of people and their behaviors.

Moreover, the project's instructors and coaches will explore how data literacy can be taught in a new, innovative way.
